About EmilyKayo Studio

Creating a safe haven for dance and connection in the heart of London.

Our Story

EmilyKayo Studio was born from a passion for creating welcoming spaces, where adults can comfortably discover the joy of movement without apprehension. EmilyKayo Studio believes that dance should be accessible to everyone, regardless of age, ability, or experience level. We aim to build a network that celebrates the beauty of mindful movement. Our structured classes are inspired by the RAD Ballet syllabus.

Our vision extends beyond just dance classes. We dream of a dedicated EmilyKayo Studio location with a welcoming café that serves as a comfortable waiting room and shared space, a true 'second home' where people can connect, share stories, and build friendships before and after class. This café will be the heart of our community, offering a warm, inviting atmosphere where everyone feels they belong.

Currently, we rent beautiful studios across London to bring beginner-friendly ballet and mindful movement classes to adults who have always wanted to dance but may have felt intimidated by traditional dance schools. Every class is designed to be inclusive and focused on the joy of movement and progression.

Who These Classes Are For

Adults who have always wanted to try ballet

Our beginner classes are designed specifically for those with little to no experience, creating a safe space to learn at your own pace.

People returning to dance after a long break

Whether you danced as a child or haven't moved in years, our gentle approach will help you rediscover the joy of movement.

Older adults or those seeking a more supportive and comfortable experience

Our gentle ballet and movement-friendly classes are perfect for those wanting to maintain flexibility and strength in a supportive environment. Please seek medical advice if you have specific health concerns.

Anyone seeking mindful movement and connection

If you're looking for a way to connect with your body and meet like-minded people in a welcoming environment, these classes are for you.

Our Full Story

EmilyKayo Studio was founded through a lifelong devotion to the beauty, the detail, and the mindfulness of ballet. We explore the charming elegance radiating from refining our posture and the alignment of our movements.

The dedication and precision that is demanded by traditional ballet, bears fruit to therapeutic concentration, and the ability to be present and aware of one's entire body. We believe that continued progression within artistic sports inspires a resounding sense of self-trust and feeling of freedom through encountering increased agency over our movements. Our sincere appreciation to movement inspired by ballet, is the catalyst of our dream to share the rewarding magic and joy of Dance.

The grace of ballet not only occurs within the classroom, but exists with us throughout our every day poise. Consequently, it affects almost everything that we do. By refining our technique, we improve our art, utilising our body as an instrument of self expression. It is a form of therapy unique and personal to every individual who opens their heart to dance.

All Progressive Ballet Technique classes are led by teachers Certified in all PBT levels. Our Ballet classes will be conducted by RAD qualified teachers. Until 2027, Ballet-Concept classes are currently run by Ballerinas aspiring towards the RAD Qualification. The Ballet-Concept classes will continue alongside the Ballet Classes.
